The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball team battled back immediately to draw even in the fourth inning, but ULM used a fifth-inning run to edge Louisiana, 5–4, on Saturday, March 28 in Sun Belt Conference play at the ULM Softball Complex in Monroe, Louisiana.
Totally agree, playing for 1 run works sometimes but it’s apparent it’s not working enough. To many times we have runners in scoring position and we bunting our top hitters shows no confidence in your team. What ever happened to playing for a big inning ,it takes pressure off your team as a whole. I do like our hitters but they got up with no plan this weekend .We killed a huge inning with a bunt then same inning not getting runner over before we swing at first pitch and leaving runner stranded on third . Just very frustrating to watch because I still believe we can hit.
Our pitching staff is not a one run lead staff. They need lots of runs. Of course it helps if the staff can trust their defense.
