LSU's only saving grace right now is their preseason ranking. Preseason rankings ruin every college sport.

That is a good point.

In a more perfect scenario they would hold off till the RPI is released.

It really doesn't make any sense that they use metal bats for their school season when they use wooden bats for all of their summer leagues.

Thats is the argument from 40 or 50 years ago. Meanwhile metal bat costs have exploded, wood probably same or only slightly increased. But the argument itself isnt rwally the point, it is the way the point was made. Why would the big p4 schools with all this money now, make a rule to help the poor schools, hmmm they wouldnt. The premise of the entire argument was always false. Also now players no longer share the metal bats and metal bats break (get dings) now too

Dude, if the MLB were allowed to use aluminum bats, there would never be another wood bat made . . . why do you think the only competition that uses wooden bats is competition where they are forced to . . . If wooden bats were even remotely competitive with aluminum bats, the top 20 of the P4 would be using them as for those money is really not an issue . . .
