Thats is the argument from 40 or 50 years ago. Meanwhile metal bat costs have exploded, wood probably same or only slightly increased. But the argument itself isnt rwally the point, it is the way the point was made. Why would the big p4 schools with all this money now, make a rule to help the poor schools, hmmm they wouldnt. The premise of the entire argument was always false. Also now players no longer share the metal bats and metal bats break (get dings) now too

An up tier wooden bat is roughly $200. How many bats do you think a college program would go through a year? I promise you it would be vastly more expensive that aluminum bats.

Maybe the P4 Conferences should use wooden bats. They obviously have money to blow on firing coaches, paying huge buyouts and then giving new coaches huge raises and guaranteed money to pay players. Buying a truck load of wooden bats should not be an issue for them. The rest of us could just continue using what we have now. If the P4 think that would be unfair, they could just come buy players that could do just as good with wood!

Plus with NIL shouldnt the bats be free, pays for itself if seen using thats companies bats, isnt that the theory behind all those phony jobs and extra practice time the tsab players had with marucci "training" facility in the pre NIL years
