I agree that Gonzaga isn't going anywhere anytime soon. But I disagree that second tier schools are hopeless. Texas Tech was a second tier school until 5 minutes ago.
When I mentioned 2nd tier schools, I automatically eliminated any P4 school. Texas Tech has always been in a major conference.

So you're saying that any and all P4 schools are top tier programs simply by virtue of being in the conference? And every other school is consequently not top tier? That's just silly.

It may seem silly, but the reality is the A4 (autonomous four) isn’t a joke.

That’s the end game of the football powers. Once this occurs and survives legal challenges, basketball will be next. Basketball will have 5 leagues, the A4 and the Big East. The PAC is dead, it’s patch-worked in every sport like a Frankenstein monster.

And softball. They got our coach and a boatload of our players, and a million dollar player from Stanford.

Now there is a clearing house to review such deals and see if they are fair value....
Doubt they will go back and review old deals just for examples to set precedence...but not sure they will be able to replicate what they did, more like a one and done chance it seemed

You mean the Texas Tech which has been to 6 Sweet 16s, 2 Elite 8s and a final 4? OK

Or the Texas Tech whose WBB have been to 7 Sweet 16s, 3 Elite 8s and a Final 4 in which they won a Natty?
