Louisiana opens its 30-game Sun Belt Conference baseball schedule on Friday when it begins a three-game series against rival South Alabama at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.

There are goals UL’s coaching staff hold high on the priority list for each game during the season.

But with Sun Belt Conference play starting with Friday’s league opener against South Alabama at Russo Park, it’s an even bigger priority for the Ragin’ Cajuns.

“You want to win every game you’re in,” coach Matt Deggs said. “However, I rank what we do in the Sun Belt Conference above everything. That’s what I want to do. That’s what the team wants to do."
