With LSU upset behind them, UL coach urges Cajuns to focus on Dallas Baptist

Even in the midst of the euphoria of UL’s 7-2 home win over the No. 2-ranked LSU Tigers, coach Matt Deggs offered up a needed reminder.

“Any time you can win, much less win against a team the caliber of LSU, it's going to boost that confidence,” said Deggs, whose Cajuns open up a three-game series at Dallas Baptist at 6 p.m. Friday.

I know LSU is 'upset' with losing back to back games, but I don't agree with calling the loss to Louisiana an "upset"

A three loss team made a two loss team a three loss team.

Plus RaginDave made a great point.

LSU has played the 138th toughest schedule so far this season, UL has played the 14th toughest schedule.

If LSU sweeps Missouri later in the season, I will rethink the idea, but as of right now, any "upset" talk is based on last season, not 2026.

“Upset” is used way to liberally in diamond sports. If the definition of upset is non ranked beating ranked, then there are multiple upsets every week. Cheapens the term.

Sometimes you just need to watch the game and you’ll see that it was not really an upset. Wednesday night the tigers were non competitive.
