He deserves it. Impressive performance on Saturday.
Telling you our rotation needs to be:
Friday Hermann
Saturday Tollett (for now)
Sunday Pruitt
By the end of the season, it might be reversing, Pruitt and Tollett, but I like these guys as you weekend starters. Herm is a stud and is proving what he can do when healthy, Pruitt might be our best young arm we have had in a while and Tollett, if he can get you 5 innings on a Sunday, I will be thrilled. Move Ty Roman (by the way, Roman has good stuff, just struggling early right now) to either a weekday starter or a relief roll, he scares me in relief because he gets better as the game goes on, but struggles in his first inning of games, that is why I would move him to the weekday starter next week vs a team like UTRVG or McNeese and get him some confidence. I don't think Friday is right for him.
Roman just needs to get consistent with the offspeed pitches.
Roman did earn that spot based on preseason......it was not given, it was earned.
Trust the process.
We are 16th in RPI.with exactly the rotation already in place. AND have won 10 of the last 11. All against top 75 rpi teams. Nothing is broke. Imperfect.....yes.
In recent years our best RPI games we needed to win to get to.an at large bid were weekday games. Lot of in state rivalry games are on Tuesday and Wednesday.. Absolutely LOVE seeing a true freshmen develop in this important role.
A high quality and healthy 4 man starting rotation is manna from heaven for a Sun Belt team. Enjoy the ride.
There is no need for any knee jerk changes to rotation....yet.
Maybe so but coach made the knee jerk reaction. Hermann is starting Friday, Tollett is starting Saturday and TBD is Sunday. I would suspect that you will probably see Roman either moved to Sunday or Pruitt getting the start Sunday for now. It could be all hands on deck this Sunday because of how many innings Pruitt pitched Wednesday. But ultimately I think he is moving to a Hermann Pruitt Tollett rotation.
