leadoff a game with a double, walk and stolen base, HBP and wild pitch, etc to put runner on 2nd with no outs.....I WILL bunt to get her to 3B. But, I am just a volunteer Coach and don't do this for a living so maybe I don't know how terrible bunting really is. Maybe allowing that extremely successful hitter that has failed 7 out of 10 times drive runs in beats bunting the runner over to 3B which then gives the offense a 70-75% chance to score according to some.

Its a game of percentages and probabilities, surely you agree with me there.

With that said, if I give you 10 rocks to throw at the light on centerfield pole from behind home plate and breaking it gets you $1MM dollars or, you can get 2 rocks and stand 5 feet away. Break the same light for $1MM.....certainly you are taking the higher odds, no?
I am not VObserver but I can tell you sitting with him, riding to games with him, etc for many years he understands bunting has its place. He is frustrated with how often the Cajuns do it and when they do it. First base/ first and second base and one out they try all the time. Down by 5 runs they tried it with one out and a runner at first. Nobody one base with two outs up by three they tried it with Marceaux. The issue is when they are doing it. Alyson played for the Cajuns when runs scored were low and if a team had a runner at first with one out most of the time they were sacrificed. The game has changed. At Bama they played a lot of small ball because the pitchers they had gave them a shot at winning almost every game and they played for minimal runs. I'm sorry no team is getting to and winning the wcws playing mostly small ball with average pitching.

I am beyond frustrated with her small ball approach. It borders on being not very smart to be kind. As people have pointed out, why bring in Coach Simpson. Keep it up and you may not see him here next year. I would not blame him in the least.

That's hilarious! In Major League baseball, most teams attempt less than 10 sacrifice bunts in a 162 game season.

    So try again.
