Thread: MBB Louisiana at Troy 6pm

  1. UL Basketball MBB Louisiana at Troy 6pm

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team looks to move up in the Sun Belt Conference standings heading into next week's Visit Pensacola Sun Belt Basketball Championships when it opens the final week of the regular season at Troy on Tuesday at Trojan Arena.

Louisiana (10-19, 7-9 SBC) never trailed after capping its home schedule last Saturday with a convincing 67-54 win over Texas State at the Cajundome. Jaxon Olvera scored 20 points off the bench for the Ragin' Cajuns, while Dorian Finister and Dariyus Woodson joined Olvera in double figures with 15 and 12 points apiece.

Todd Jones Jr., helped the Cajuns inside by scoring eight points, hauling down eight rebounds, and had a career-high five blocked shots, as Louisiana took a 32-28 advantage on the boards.

Very interesting last two games here. We could possibly finish in a tie for 6th if we won out but we could also finish second to last above ULM if we lose both and to be honest, both of these teams whooped our asses recently.

Troy is just a better team. We have no answer for their inside game and they are a much better passing team.

    Finister didn't make the trip.

Collins showing some talent. He's young and hasn't played much all year but making plays especially defensively that nobody on this team can make. Also makes some bonehead plays but again, he hasn't played a ton all year.

I know his parents are locals here but Mejia may be the worst shooting specialist I've ever seen. This guy has barely hit the rim and has hit the side of the backboard twice. I'd rather just let Ratliff and Woodson take his attempts and get him off the court.
