Thread: Final SB Louisiana 0, Florida State 8

Just a couple of notes with reference to our 'atrocious' hitting.

Our 2 returning slappers [though one does not slap this year and the other slaps only about 1/3 of her at bats] are doing very well at the plate.
Mia Liscano is currently hitting .417 with 9 Runs and 3 RBI [.288 with 26 and 5 in 2025]
Dayzja Williams is hitting .435 with 6 Runs and 3 RBI [.321 with 15 and 2 in 2025]

The last time the Cajuns scored 400+ runs in a season was 2022.

You provide some good stats with this post and with your other post. I think that the post made by SportyCajun459 was made looking through a lens focused on just 1 game against a Top Ten program. Everything that could go wrong for the Cajuns in that game went wrong. Pitching, hitting and defense were all lacking in that game. But if you look at all of the games that have played to date, the Cajuns have beat the teams that they were supposed to (with the exception of that one Prairie View game) and split with a program (Ole Miss) that many thought would sweep UL. Jacksonville State is a good mid-major program so the split with them was no surprise. This coming weekend will tell us more about where the Cajun program is at with games agianst 2 SEC programs, 1 Big 12 program and one Big Ten program. In regard to the performance of Smith and Manning so far this year, believe me when I say that nobody knows more than them that they are not where they want/need to be with their bats right now. I have no doubt that they will figure things out with the help of Coach Shipman and get better as the season progresses.

I also believe that Smith and Manning will figure it out. I really like what Coach Shipman has been doing so far.

Also, both Michigan State and Houston are doing better than I thought they would so far this season, making this coming weekend even tougher.
