After an incredible win over Ole Miss the softball and baseball teams sure went south losing games they had no business losing. Very disappointing. Did someone ask Kevin Foote if the piper got us?

This loss is totally on the coaching staff. Yes, we should never lose to any SWAC team, so some part of that is on the players; but there is no doubt that we would have won this game if the staff had properly handled pitching. Four of PV's 6 runs were scored by players who had reached base via the walk.

There is no way that Mackles should have been pitching after the second inning. She was pitching behind hitters all day long. It caught up with her in the second inning. I understand leaving her in for another inning after that, but as soon as we took the lead, she should have been pulled in favor of Delbrey.

So far this weekend in 4 games Vasquez and Liscano are 7- 19 [.368]. Smith and Manning are 3-23 [.130]. That is an issue. I don't advocate benching Smith or Manning, but until they find their groove, they should not bat 3rd and 4th. Liscano and Vasquez should not bat 8th and 9th.
