  1. UL Softball CajunsWin SB Louisiana 5, Corpus Christi 1

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball team returned to the win column on Friday, February 13 by closing out Day 1 of the Ragin' Cajuns Invitational with a 5-1 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to bounce back from defeat in a tight battle with No. 21 Ole Miss.

An inside the park grand slam delivered by freshman Haley Hart allowed the Ragin' Cajuns (4-2) to break away from a 1-0 contest with A&MCC (1-6) in the fifth inning.

Lexie Delbrey (7.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 10 K) was in command from start to finish holding the Islanders scoreless until a sac fly in the seventh inning.

Our bats continued to struggle in this game. Looked like the aTm CC pitcher was hitting her spots with good movement, but we still should have hit her better.

Hart's HR was a freak hit. Bases loaded, 2 outs. Defense was playing her to pull the ball and she hit a soft pop-up over the 1st baseman's head, maybe 30' into the OF grass. Both the second baseman and the RF tried to get to it, but fell [literally, in the case of the 2b] just short. Everyone was running on the pitch, and Hart managed to slide under the tag at home plate.

Delbrey looked really good until the 7th, when she struggled some before registering a couple of K's to end the game.

Thanks for the update/recap. Wish they could broadcast all the home games, but I get the limitations.

I’m guessing Delbrey gets the ball against Ole Miss today? Hope they can rally.
