Sophomore Michael Yusypchuk threw six shutout innings and right fielder Taeg Gollert drove in three runs with a pair of doubles as Missouri State distanced itself from the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, 8-2, on Friday before an opening day announced crowd of 3,869 at M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.
Got out-hit and out-pitched. Ugly baseball.
We that BS
Louisiana can't win anything. Football - good joke. Basketball - even better joke. Baseball - Fall in. Walking opponent over the plate in top of 9. How in the Hell do you win BSBL walking your opponent over home plate in top 9.
F'n Garbage.
We got the facilities, uni(s), everything looking, feeling sharp. Wait.... why is the opposite line dug out having a good ole' time? Because we that that BS, but at least we look sharp.
Prove me wrong tomm.
It’s one game . . .
Opening Day for college baseball arrived Friday, and Cajun country was eager to get its first looks of Louisiana baseball this season taking on Missouri State to open up the 2026 season.
With nothing but a sour taste in their mouth from last season, the Ragin’ Cajuns did a rinse and repeat reloading its roster with new and returning faces. Those changes didn’t lead to an immediate change for the Cajuns though as they lost 8-2 to the Bears.
The UL pitching staff struggled early and late Friday, but the bats were silent all day for the Ragin' Cajuns in an 8-2 loss to Missouri State in the season opener at Russo Park.
“I saw some good things today,” UL coach Matt Deggs said. “We flashed some good pitching and defense. We just have to string some stuff together offensively.”
The two teams are scheduled to play again at 2 p.m. Saturday.
THE SKY IS FALLING! LOL
bad opening day + too much mardi gras.
