I believe this was our fourth straight game shooting 50% from 3 point land. We are a 6-10 make team from 3 per night team so I love staying in those attempt ranges. Doing so has created so much more efficiency on offense.

Bigs are playing with more impact. Woodson is absolutely out of his mind right now shooting and Jones is really playing big in the middle on both sides of the court. Ratliff has played well and shot the 3 surprisingly well and he will be needed down the stretch.

We had 13 of our 29 rebounds were on the offensive boards yesterday. That's crazy. We extended possessions and that's often where you get some of your best looks, off of missed shots and rebound kick outs.

Not sure why we don't play in transition more than we do. We had 6 points in transition and there were a number of times that we had numbers and just walked it up. When we did push it up we looked like we didn't know what we were doing. Had a 3 on 1 with the ball in Olvera's hands and had easy bounce pass to Bilal which would have been a layup and somehow he absolutely missed the read and by the time he did get him the ball it was too late and it turned into a missed jump shot.

The team is playing much better than before and its good seeing the guys get some success. We've beaten many of the teams at the top of the standings minus Troy and it makes me feel like we could beat any of them in the tournament on the right day.

Better offense is leading to fewer fouls. We are not having as many situations where we have to force something contested at the end of the shot clock. When that happens your defense is in scramble mode which leads to fouls. Still, I did not think the Cajuns played particularly well on defense yesterday. They gave up over 50 percent shooting to CMU. Some of that was due to height of CMU helping them get shots near the basket. Fortunately they were able to force a few turnovers at crunch time. 2nd half was best offensive play we have seen from Cajuns this season.

After watching the first ten minutes of the game, I was thinking that was no way we can beat this team. They have basically two 7 foot guys, a couple guys that can shoot lights out 3 pointers, and a great point guard. But we got it done with great hustle, defense, greatly improved shooting, and good coaching. I’m really starting to love the pure grit of this team. I’ll be there for sure on Thursday!!!!!

If I recall correctly, CMU made at least 4 shots at the very end of the shot clock. Our defense played them tight and they made tough shots at the buzzer. I'm not sure we could have done any better on those plays.

To your point, our defense did let several uncontested layups occur.

Our guys are starting to really enjoy their success. Post game they circled the court, high fiving fans. I am glad they are having success now and letting the fans know they appreciate our support.

    GEAUX CAJUNS!

#32 had a great turnaround move. Unfortunately unless he was within 5 feet, he couldn’t throw a golf ball in the ocean from that range.

When I saw #32 before the game, and he was a senior starter, i said dang, it’s going to be a tough rebounding night! But then I realized in today’s world, if he was really good; one of the big money teams would have bought him by now.

The way this team is playing now, compared to the first half of the season is like night and day! It apparently took some time for the players to get to know each other and learn Coach Q’s system.
