For context, UH has a Billionaire booster at their disposal but apparently is still not enough.

They dont care. Its greed. And they're gonna bludgeon college athletics until its completely ruined. Instant gratification. F the future. Kick that can down the road.
There’s not a school in the country who can continue this way forever. But I get his point.
It's time for the NCAA to start a FBS National Championship Tourney just like they have for the FCS. Enforce real restrictions on the Portal and NIL. Let the elite snobs leave. I don't give a rat's you know what about them.
If the NCAA dosen't step up, Congress will step in soon. I would rather we fix this mess before they mess it up more.
Is coach on minimum wage? Lol.
You reach a point where there are only so many roster spots.
The ones paying can only fill tbeir rosters and thats it. Maybe a few extra redshirts(?) Regardless, if mid to lower tier teams cant pay will the remaining players not play?? Not get scholarships? Obv. Not, they will still end up playing, going to skool, whether paid or not. Teams neex to take a stand and move forward.... Seems like this was a bump in the road but we are already on way back down, now football may be adifferent story
The trick will be having the discipline to not throw a little bit of dough at a few mid grade players if some cash comes available.. Be better to bank the money in a reserve fund. Teams should save and pay in cycles... save for 2 or 3 yrs or t or 6 then pay more out at once
In the big picture, it really wasn’t that long ago that major P4 college football and basketball coaches were paid less than $1,000,000 per year and today’s Group of 6 coaches were happy with making $300,000 to $500,000. Even in today’s world, those salaries are in the top 5% - 10% of salaries in the USA. These schools should start hiring coaches that simply enjoy coaching and want to coach. There are an unlimited number of coaches that would jump at a $300,000 or $400,000 salary! F… the agents and greedy SOB’s. I’m all for someone making as much money as possible and don’t blame any Coach, AD or Administrator for collecting a $5 or $10 million salary if they can get it. But the college administrators need to begin reeling in ridiculous salaries and see who is willing to work for a salary that only puts them in the top 10% of Americans! If that’s not good enough they can go get a real job like 99.9% of the rest of US workers.
I’ve been buying season tickets for multiple years and contributing extra for 30+ years. But I’m about fed up with college athletics. I will continue buying my tickets (for now), but my extra contributions (RCAF) will certainly not increase and may decrease. This is not just a UL issue, but unfortunately they are the only school I have been trying to support.
