Every time I watch her speak, I am impressed. Admittedly dealt a tough hand last year, and there are a lot of questions about this team, but she clearly expects improvement.
Think the non-conference is gonna be rough at times but hopefully this team can find a way to win the league.
The non-conference schedule is pretty strong, but there are at least 11 games that we should be favored in, and I expect us to win 16 games OOC other than the 10 games against ACC, SEC and Big 10 teams. We could also win as many as 4 of those games.
In Conference road games, we play only two teams, ULM and JMU, who had winning records last year. Our home schedule is much stronger, with TxSt, Troy, CCU and Marshall, all of which had winning records last year.
Maybe I miscounted, but I counted 20 non. Power conference games out of conference. Still 16 is a possible number. This weekend will give us a better picture, as we have 3 games against Jacksonville State and UNT. Both were pretty good last year.
17 games non-power conference:
Tulsa
Jacksonville State (2)
North Texas
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (2)
Prairie View
Howard (2)
Northern Iowa
St. Mary's (2)
Kennesaw State
Abilene Christian (2)
McNeese (2)
13 games Power Conference:
Ole Miss (2)
Florida State
Michigan State
LSU (2)
Missouri
Houston
Texas A&M (2)
Oklahoma (2)
Virginia
Conferences:
AAC (2)
Conference USA (3)
MEAC (2)
Missouri Valley (1)
Southland (4)
SWAC (1)
West Coast (2)
WAC (2)
ACC (2)
Big 10 (1)
Big 12 (1)
SEC (9)
Wow lcitsh, that is a really balanced schedule.
RoarMan, you’ve been pretty good in the past reviewing the Soft Ball team. What are your thoughts at this point?
