Too late. The demographics along Congress westward isn’t what it was 20 years ago. More and more rentals.

LCG just approved a gas station where the Corner Panty is behind Lafayette High. They would not have done that 20 years ago.

Disposable income location is always fluid other than it rarely comes back. AKA urban sprawl.

    Yep.

A City / University 'sponsored' French Quarter District in and around Cajun Basin where every waiter/worker speaks functional French (for their job capacity) would draw international visitors plus non stop national exposure.

Besides that it would draw every nostalgic Cajun from Houston to Alabama on a regular basis.

Tie that in with a French broadcast and you have home run x10

    A French two bits district.

Everthing needs a twist these days to succeed.

    Correct.
I recall a mentor of mine using the analogy: "$20 does not mean the same everywhere. If you or I lost $20, it would be irritating, if a single mother in Haiti lost $20, it would be catastrophic."

Question comes to mind is knowing what is the 5 year trajectory of athletics deficit? What's the trend and major variances from previous year. Just blurting out the $13MM deficit last year begs for many more questions. Maybe a journalist will dig in. Discovery might reveal $7MM annual deficit is the 5 year average and what are deficits for peer institutions? Not making light of a deficit, but what's normal for public university athletic departments at UL's level? That would actually inform us.

Kevin Foote’s article in today’s Advocate does a good job of explaining the deficit. All money donated to UL for athletics goes. Into the Foundation. It does not show up as revenue on the athletic balance sheet. Only fees paid by student are shown as institutional support. For us about $500,000 compared to $13 mill average for belt. So deficits will remain. Maggard says regardless of ticket sales. Interesting read and first article by media that actually looks into the audit and what it means.

This makes my heart smile. This is exactly what we need.

Speaking of work, I guess there’s little chance the anti sports ball media will factor that in the equation.
