Love that Jay is keeping this going.
I was able to listen to the interview and now I better understand where things are. The guys that are playing now are basically sophomores and they are improving. The 3 that are hurt are probably the top 3. Sounds like they are committed and will come back. Also sounds like the 3 HS kids that are very highly rated, are still committed. So this is all good news. If this all comes together next year it should be a huge jump for us. Anything we can accomplish with the remainder of this season will be welcomed, but really looking forward to next season.
Thanks, I couldn't listen where I was either, didn't want to disturb...
Ragin' Cajuns Roll
#RaCaRoll
This will be the format for coaches to connect with fans going forward. There will be no more live coaches radio shows. There have been none for basketball and diamond sports will also not have coaches shows. Note Kevin Foote interviews the coaches on his show weekly. Tuesday mornings is generally when Coach Q is on with Kevin.
I hope the Ragin Cajun connection interviews occur on a more regular basis. I realize schedules for the coaches and Jay have to align for that to happen. Something like releasing an episode every other Wednesday may be something that could work.
Im still very optimistic as well.
After listening to the interview a couple of things stood out. One, the financial situation is hitting the program. The travel problems going to App were caused by a charter flight being cancelled for financial reasons. That is why commercial flights had to be taken which experienced problems. I am surprised we were allowed to push the game vs ODU to February 16th as a second flight will need to be taken. Q did not make a big deal of it but there was some push to have us play ODU the day after the App game. Q used safety of his players to object to that. We also had to play at Lamar the same day of the bus trip. I am OK with that considering our financial situation but usually you travel the day before a game. There is some optimism the bulk of the guys contributing now will return. Of course he would not say anything different at this stage. If so, the improvement we have seen in recent games needs to continue. Coach White prides himself on being able to develop players. We will find out in the next year if he is correct on that front.
Q must be given a fair chance without harping at every missed free throw or failure to block out on a rebound . . . Development does not happen overnight and putting together a championship team either without substantial NIL funding . . . so, hopefully Louisiana fans can at least be supportive with how the speak on social media especially since they will not be with their money
