If concerts are the topic now: did anyone go to this??
Garth Brooks did not perform a traditional live concert at Cajun Field in 2020, but he did host a virtual, one-night-only "drive-in" concert experience there on Saturday, June 27, 2020. This event was part of a special, safe-distancing concert tour broadcast to300 drive-in theaters across North America.
Key Details:
Event: Garth Brooks: A Drive-In Concert Experience.
Date: June 27, 2020.
Location: Cajun Field in Lafayette, LA.
Format: The concert was not live in-person, but rather a specially produced, pre-recorded, high-definition show shown on a large screen for fans in their vehicles.
Ticket Price: $100 per vehicle.
Yeah. We parked at the Cajun Dome and listened to it on the radio for free. Only because the CF parking lot was packed.
I honestly thought the admin had to see the 1500 cars parked there to watch a recorded concert and think "how many times can we do this?". Apparently the answer they came up with was "none times"
Any notable job losses? I hate for folks to lose their job.
Think so if I remember correctly. Reba had a backup singer named Shania Twain also.
An no, didn’t pay $100 for a drive in movie.
They partner with Learfield but still had to almost double the staff. I never got that, I thought they could shrink the staff with Learfield doing the heavy lifting.
