Thread: Branding Lafayette

  1. Louisiana Branding Lafayette

The Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) organized a 90-minute session titled Brand Lafayette: A Community Working Session, where community leaders and partners discussed how Lafayette conveys its story through investment, communication, and place.

Monique Blanco-Boulet, Lafayette’s Mayor-President, aims to establish a unique identity for the city to enhance economic development and attract visitors.

If you want to "enhance" anything involving Lafayette, get rid of the begging bums at every major intersection as well as a tough, tough, PR campaign to stop the litter.

    "unique identity"

Closer ties to the University of Louisiana. Much closer ties.

Every football game a Fais Do-Do.

Every football game a different food festival.

Brand the city "ooh La LA USA"

Kickstart a culinary school at UL.

Kick start a confectionery school at Louisiana with the focus on sugar cane. Sugar Cane syrup taffy.

Too much litter? A possible byproduct of crackdown on greeks? No greek on greek barfights after tailgating and game attendamce, without pick up trash community service details as punishment assigned by dean of students afterwards??

Make univ of Louisiana campus a census designated place, named Louisiana, Louisiana. "Oh you want to add an L, ok, still LOUISIANA, take that!"

    "Unique Identity"

Revitalize the Hub City designation but promote all of Louisiana at the same time.

Originally marketing of Hub City was to pull in Acadiana area to Lafayette.

The new "Unique Identity" of a 'Hub City' is the opposite. It would be to make Lafayette your main multi day Pitt Stop when you come to Louisiana.

Come to and stay in Lafayette but enjoy a dozen "Gocations" while you here, which are places you can "Geaux See" around Louisiana and Acadiana during the day and come back to Lafayette that night.

    "Louisiana BonJour"

  7. Default Re: Branding Lafayette

Paint the Town Red year round and rename it VermilionVille.

    "What's Old is New"

First, The Hub City is too regional. Anyone outside of Acadiana might recognize what that means, but beyond here it’s not a strong identifier.

So, here’s my version of how to brand Lafayette with a new slogan one that I believe would have national appeal!

    Here is my Title Page!!

Too many local references to erase it, better to embrace it while while not making it 'The Brand' rather melding the concept while focusing on something like you came up with.

Cajun Heartland has a great hub feel to it.
