Kyle Brady brings new approach to UL softball's pitching staff

When it comes to pitching this spring for the UL softball team, just about every aspect of the staff will be new.

One could argue that’s a good thing after an inexperienced staff gave up 391 hits and only struck out 191 batters in 356⅓ innings with a 3.79 team ERA. Opponents hit .282.

I remember when the Jets drafted him with a Top 10 pick in the 1995 NFL Draft. Dang that franchise has made some horrible first round draft decisions, which keeps them picking in the Top 10 almost every dang season.

Hope he's able to bring huge improvements to our program.

Kyle James Brady (born January 14, 1972) is an American former professional football player who was a tight end for 13 seasons in the National Football League (NFL) for the New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars, and New England Patriots. He played college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions, earning first-team All-American honors in 1994. He was the Jets' first round draft choice in the 1995 NFL draft.

In addition to his coaching experience, Brady has developed state-of-the-art training programs for pitchers and overhand throwers, and placed dozens of players in collegiate softball programs for nearly a decade. He has also worked as a performance and development consultant for several colleges and universities across the country.

A Cincinnati, Ohio native, Brady graduated from Dayton in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in philosophy. He pitched two seasons at the NCAA Division II level at Wingate University (2011-13), in addition to playing professionally for three seasons in the Frontier League and American Association
