Timing is everything.

Way before anyone else caught on to the real value of redshirting, Nebraska did.

Nebraska became a power house during the Tom Osborne era by redshirting every freshmen and always having 5th year seniors.

Now it's being used just to have enough players to field a team.

Heck, some high schools had kids spend an extra year in 8th grade. Been the model for decades.

Ole fart here remembers but much easier for basketball. The one play redshirt gone is the present day rule! How can the Mickey Mouse NCAA legitimize this?? Is it the shape of the balls? What is the difference?
