So much of our ills depend on funding. The University has NONE to give right now. The University spent more than it could pay for the last several years. We are now paying the price for that.

Looks like our portal targets are opting instead for football and NIL powerhouses like Jacksonville State and South Alabama.

That’s the disconnect. The financial hole dug has nothing to do with private NIL money. It involves work, which every time UL athletics reaches a pinnacle, back slapping and admiring what was achieved supplants continued work. Followed by “we tried”.

    Every time.

We must have given most of the available NIL money to Lunch.

My giving to RCAF will be reduced significantly for a couple of reasons. I have retired and won't be throwing my hard earned $$ at NCAA sports given it's current F'd up situation with NIL and transfer policies. I'll be dropping 1/2 my season tickets in football, already dropped baseball and but will give Coach Q another year before dropping basketball. I'll keep my softball tickets to see if CAH turns out to be the coach that can move us to the top of the conference again. I doubt we'll be anywhere close to what we were used to as NIL will taint this sport too, just not on the scale as football.

Also, the utter lack of understanding from MH not grasping that we can all stay home and watch just about every game our teams play. They continue doing things that turn us away. I understand they are trying to gain younger fans, but us old farts have had just about enough, and we were the ones giving the most!
Well said sir. The most important hire coming up is President of the university. IF the new President reads the landscape correctly that football is the accelerator to drive revenue, enrollment, etc. and engages with alumni and sells it to the media and community at large then maybe there's a chance to gain momentum. The President hire and their leadership commitment to football will be telling. Right now just wait and see, more drifting in immediate forecast.

That Tech Committ was from Arkansas, not Oklahoma.

I, too, hope our new President "gets it". Just have to look at Indiana and what winning football has done in galvanizing its alumni around the country and energizing the university.

Until the portal is fixed, college football is ____ed.

We are a program with tremendous potential, but near zero financial backing potential.

Once NIL went into full effect I became a casual. Hell, I’m not even sure I’d call myself a casual fan anymore.

I’m at the point that I just don’t care anymore.

Well then he better play like Super Man because there may not be much support around him.
