You keep saying this ad nauseum, but youre 100% wrong. Forgive me for being a bit vague, but there were donors that stepped up to 1. make an offer to try and keep Napier. (No, it wasnt what Florida offered, but it was significantly higher than he was getting paid at the time).
Or 2. To go out and get another Napier like hire. Like a Lanning or Golding. I even know at least 1 of the donors, and a ballpark of what they were willing to pony up. And I NEVER go to him to ask insider info. Never! I literally asked at the time because of some of the BS floating around out there like your "facts" you concocted in your head.

    There! I said it!

"Yes, you can be a billionaire without having billions in physical cash; most billionaire wealth is tied up in assets like company stock, real estate, intellectual property, and investments, with only a tiny fraction held as liquid cash."

I'm not saying he can't get there.

I say that, because I've seen improvement every year with a major step back the first half of this year followed by major recovery.

If he can only remember it's a 60 minute game.

there was funding to keep Napier maybe another year at what $2mm - so another million dollar commitment - this is the first I hear of any funding available on a continuing basis to hire and fund another Coach’s career here - plus needed NIL to get players - who are the vehicle needed to be successful . . . lots of assumption allocation going on now of things not even there to allocate . . . but it is RP

Besides, how many up and coming coaches, even if they were identified, would have been jumping through hoops to coach at Louisiana who was struggling financially, run by an administration with little support for athletics and with virtually no NiL support?

If we are going to have the conversation, let’s at least have ALL of the actual facts, limitations and financial considerations in play . . .
Well, you should take your own advice then. You can't ____ on Napier the whole time he produced a perennially ranked team and conference champion, and give all the credit to Levi Lewis of all people and then somehow turn it around to say you have to give the same credit to Des. If it was all coaching, Des would have had some great seasons initially with all of the talent that Napier left him. He was picked to win the West unanimously in 2022 and he didn't even finish the season .500. Give me a break.

I will admit the current landscape is more challenging for a mid level program, but maybe that supports the whole concept that a search would have been in our best interest. You are assuming no other coach would have been able to come here but Quannis White was able to excite enough people that they allegedly drew in $800,000 in NIL for basketball. What would have happened if an exciting coaching hire would have come in and done the same for football? There was absolutely ZERO excitement with the Des hire. It was the safe hire at a time we may have needed to be bold.
