And I agree, that in the rush to get it over with, they saved time with the Des hire. I'm not sure why they were rushing though.

And as far as "saving money" I think the opposite is true. Spending less only to have donors dry up, isn't necessarily saving money.
    Bingo!!

They thought the money would flow automatically with no effort on their part. Why they thought this I do not know.

    You gotta inspire.

Little things like acknowledging and promoting the accomplishments.

    Didn't happen.

Case in point: No banner no pagentry try while the iron was hot.

I hope going forward the history of what occurred here at UL after our two best football years in history being in the top 25 and winning two conference championships will be studied and never repeated.
The botching of the coaching hire with no national search which caused little excitement to use that momentum for a push for NIL when it was most needed needs to be studied.
There still are no championship banners in the stadium.

the mindset was once very different. after the CWS appearance, a huge billboard was up forever touting the 3rd place finish. many years ago, a green sign that tried to look like an official DOTD one said "practice facility of the national champion USL water ski team" was on 90, where you'd turn to get to that big pond just past the airport by the old cypress tree inn.

well, we found one without Red colored glasses - if this is not the case it’s time for the fan base to step up and prove it as opposed to posting on this board excuse after excuse but never providing the support

study what - it has been studied and documented infinitum here - this university has little to no financial fan support for its athletics - what it has is BS excuse support which is totally addressed would do very little towards the end result

The mantra "I don't want your fandom just your money" doesn't work well.
