Corporation for Public Broadcasting votes to shut itself after funding cuts
Leaders of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, a private agency that has steered federal funding to PBS, NPR and hundreds of public television and radio stations across the country, voted Monday to dissolve the organization that was created in 1967.
Time to become
KRVS
The Ragin Voice for Sports
Geaux Cajuns
All students all the time!
It will be a station that better serves the listening area.
I haven't listened to that station since "Car Talk" ended.
Except for a news program I think twice a day and Fresh Air, it’s about all music. Mostly run by our students. Hope we can retain the early am Cajun music and language show. I need my word of the day. Likely we won’t be able to justify maintenance on 100k watt system and it’ll go back to on campus only format. That’s what it was when I was in school.
I liked the news shows because I got a more reasoned approach to what the left was thinking. Even listen to MSNBC to hear what the whackos think. Same with Fox. Of course I also catch the Ruskies, Chinese state broadcasts as well as Al Jereeza for the same reason. I like to know what others are saying. But I was in Air Force Security Service. Not my fault.
To increase support of station though, I’ve got to cut something and it won’t be academics.
