Well you might be right, maybe its me being lazy lol. I let you be the judge it doesnt look bad, no it would not look like bumps, gotta think like San Diego State Helmets, those helmets are incredible, on T.V. they are legit, but say if you sitting in the stands it would probably look like black marks never been to a SDSU game. Let me give you an example.

I think a gator texture is all one unified pattern. It’s not a bunch of different designs it’s a single, cohesive look, and I believe it would work beautifully.
From a distance, it might read as subtle bumps or texture. But as you get closer, you’d clearly recognize it as alligator skin, and that’s the part that makes it so cool. If we went with this approach, it would add real gravitas to the helmets. As an alternate look, it would be incredible.
Honestly, I think this is the direction we should take.

They are totally against the white gator. They probably never do this. It would only give it legitimacy.
