I think the "cULture" mantra was a stretch and/or burnt out.
Took think we were somehow going to be the only one's with culture is idiotic. Now if you say cajun culture or something to that effect it may be a different claim

Basically the school has given the coaches of Women's Basketball, Volleyball, and Soccer a lifetime contract.
They could never have gotten away with this if they were still the Lady Cajuns.
By burying those programs under the Ragin' Cajuns banner, the aministration (way back when) made them irrelevant.
Free games with no accountability is the fruitage.
Its an unsustainable model.
That is the logic.
J Kelley Hall proved the "Lady Cajuns" could draw 1000 paying fans.
Free "Ragin' Cajuns Women's Basketball" never will.
Right, a failed attempt to come up with excuses.
It's the the UL administration and coaching that is causing the ineptitude of our Athletics. Fan interest is generated by success, not the other way around. Once you have years of success, like many schools have had, you get fans that stick around during the down years. We have not in any way had enough success, and effort put into our Athletics to obtain a large following.
It can be done, but it must start with the UL Administration and wise decisions by the AD, like not hiring inexperienced TE coaches to be your Head Football Coach after 2 tremendous years of success.
About 20 years ago former Tulane President Scott Cowan was the leader in raising anti-trust, anti-competitive issues with Congress about the G5 conferences being blocked out of the BCS and New Year's Bowls. Its an oversimplified explanation, but pressure eventually led to the top ranked G5 making one of the New Years 6 bowls and now the CFP.
The fans are customers. It’s not the fans job to fill seats when the product is stale. I agree that the town sometimes takes the university for granted, but how many times does the university self-inflict itself with carelessness to the point where alumni and supporters throw their hands up and just look the other way? Look no further than the current issues the university has gone through over the last 6 months.
If the athletic department and university want more fan support, don’t go 6-7 3 out of 4 seasons and then brag about “8 straight bowl appearances” inside of a brand new stadium. Don’t create a basketball culture that divided the fanbase over the last decade. Don’t win 27 games in baseball while getting run ruled by inferior competition at home. And quit blaming the fans for not showing up. It’s THER JOB to give us a good product to make us want to spend our time at their venues.
If someone opens a restaurant, it’s not the job of people to show up to eat. The food and service have to be decent enough for them to stop by. If the food is bad, people aren’t coming. Well, the current product on Reinhardt doesn’t seem to be on par if people aren’t showing up.
