This university is a major part of this community. Those of us who attended this university need to do everything in our power to get ALL of the community involved in the activities of this university.

No one is saying to shut up. On the contrary, talk. Talk to the managers and owners of the businesses you frequent. Talk to your neighbors. Talk to your co-workers. Talk to whoever you can and find out what it would take to get them involved in Cajun athletics. Then talk to Bryan Maggard, Mike Desormeaux, Quannas White, all the coaches, all the athletic staff, all the administration, everyone you can think of with the university to see what we can do to build this program. This is not a sprint. WE are either in it for the long haul or we can be failures like other schools that the SEC, ACC, Big 12 and Big 10 look on with disdain.
Do you actually believe that the SEC, ACC, Big 12 and Big 10 look on ANY G6 program with anything other than disdain? Man, what more do they have to do to us before you'll be convinced that they basically intend to destroy P6 conference programs? If the transfer portal and NIL don't finish us off, you can rest assured that the P4 conferences will find another roadblock to throw at us.

The Pentathlam always measured and aligned with the academic year for rating the production of athletics, and that is the way it should be.

However to write off poor performance and look the other way because it fell in a calendar year is just making excuses, and is enabling the do nothing culture.

Agree but The thing i dont understand is then why did they give us any bowls to begin with, and any coverage, and why were they so 'liberal' (non political use of the word) in their approval of so many teams moving up. Or was that their genius, give us more and more and we will crumble on top of ourselves by trying to "keep up with the joneses"/be careful what you ask for you might get it.

I think the year can be analyzed either way...as long as it is apples to apples.... while many faults in the coverage and premise of the article that is the least of it

Kaare johnson was discussing the enrollment numbers that were posted here (via twitter)... he said he coyldnt confirm lswgo's number wither and had tried, but he said had a confirmed number of 39k for spring.
He then spoke admirably of a new quad or quad rehab and said he doesnt see why tsab should not be well over 50,000 students annd thought if they then did same thing at uno they should be at over 30,000

It is odd that nobidy csn confirm the numbers, dont they need a better estimate for emergency purposes day in and day out

finally the mainstream UL Media calls it out.

Foote quotes "worst athletic year for UL in 50 years"
Well Kevin if you haven't figured it out yet we, UL, are not as good as some of the fans think and as well as what the media thinks. Simply put, in 2025 UL athletics regressed! And not to mention the horrible financial situation the University is in!

The two go hand in hand.

An Athletic Vibe leads to enrollment.

    Athletic Success leads to donations.

Right now there is no "Vibe"and dare I say no "Culture"

Start with a focus on free tailgating for every event sponsored by LOUISIANA.edu

Get the "Fais do-do" vibe back and sooner rather than later every budget shortfall will be fixed
