If you're a manager and you continue to loose 10 mill a year without changing (for the better) the way you do things, any of us would have been fired months ago. No matter what he did when he first got here, those days are gone, as his ass should before UL sinks to depths never seen here
I agree, his tenure last 3 or 4 years has been an absolute failure.

There are two problems here, one, Kevin's article takes in the 2025 calendar year, January to December, which is not accurate. The athletic year runs from August to July. Two, if your boss is giving you a $500 a day budget and your competition has a $1,000 a day budget, you are mathematically behind. Before you start saying it is Maggard's responsibility to bring in money to add to what the university gives him, keep in mind that it is your responsibility to bring in money also, whether it is out of your own pocket, or whether you are soliciting others to donate to your athletic program. If you don't believe that, then you are part of the problem.

Here's the refutation to what may be conceived as "worst", the Bubas Cup. I understand many of you don't place any value in it, but it is the measuring stick within the conference for the overall strength of your athletic program. After Fall sports (6), Cajuns are tied for 3rd with 36.5 points, 12 points behind 1st. In the last three years, Cajuns finished 4th with 118.5 points, tied for 5th with 117 points, and 3rd with 127.5 points. There was a time when the Cajuns would struggle to reach 100 points and would finish in the bottom half of the conference. I recognize that most of you only care about the 5 "major" sports, but every athlete that puts on a Cajun uniform matters as does their sport. It's time for you to honor the value Bryan Maggard brings to this athletic department.

There it is: blame the fans.

"Shut up and give us your money."

Dr. Maggard gambled on premium amenities and suites as a revenue generator, which is fine, but he (and his team) didn't walk and chew gum...and the fans that fill the seats went by the wayside.

The message can never be "We don't want your money!" Where's your money?

Currently that is the message being delivered with WBB and Volleyball.

I’m not saying Maggard is blameless, but what Icitch is saying is absolutely true. There is a certain amount of financial support you need to be able to consistently compete at a high level and we are definitely not providing that as fans. You can’t expect us to be top dog with a middle of the road budget. This was true 10 years ago, but it is 10x more true today in the age of NIL.

    Don’t forget WSOC.

I really thinknif they followed my 10 page thesis that i came up with 2 or 3 years ago, i am not going to predict wins and losses, but i think fan engagement; and attendance would be higher then it is now!

Of course I'm going to blame the fans...and the university academic administration and the athletic department and everyone else on this team. We are a team. That includes those who don't even know they are on this team. If you have a business here, you owe this community. If you live here, I don't care where you went to school, you owe this community. This university is a major part of this community. Those of us who attended this university need to do everything in our power to get ALL of the community involved in the activities of this university.

No one is saying to shut up. On the contrary, talk. Talk to the managers and owners of the businesses you frequent. Talk to your neighbors. Talk to your co-workers. Talk to whoever you can and find out what it would take to get them involved in Cajun athletics. Then talk to Bryan Maggard, Mike Desormeaux, Quannas White, all the coaches, all the athletic staff, all the administration, everyone you can think of with the university to see what we can do to build this program. This is not a sprint. WE are either in it for the long haul or we can be failures like other schools that the SEC, ACC, Big 12 and Big 10 look on with disdain.
