Thread: Princeton Malbrue

  1. Default Princeton Malbrue

We need this kid to come home for 1 season at UL. The kid is uber smart and has 1 year of eligibility left and can fill an immediate need. He graduated from LCA in HS and already has his degree from LSU. He really did not get a chance for most of his career at LSU, but I think would fill a spot right away at UL for 2026.

He played standup DE in HS. Looks longer than his 6'1 frame would lead you to believe, gets off blocks extremely well and has put on 30 lbs since he was in college. Has some good speed and appears after watching his HS highlight videos that he can drop back in coverage as well when needed. He seems a little undersized but fits the mold of a Jake St. Andre with a little more athletism from what I can see.

Come on coach, go get Princeton Malbrue in the portal. He has already announced that he is looking to transfer, what better landing spot for his last season than his hometown!!!!!

We did not recruit him out of HS, but he started his career at Northwestern State for one year and played at LSU since then. He had a decent season in 2023 but sat out all of 2024 with an injury. He came back in 2025 but only logged 3 tackles in 12 games with the Tigers.

He is looking to work on his MBA wherever he lands.

I know many have been critical of LCA and the athletic factory perception they have. But this is just a really smart kid who also plays sports. I don't know if anyone has ever said there are not really smart kids who go to LCA, it is more about the fact that they have in the past, recruited kids to LCA who may or may not have fit the academic perception they have tried to create. This kid is special (not just athletically which he is), but he is going to be successful after athletics is over. Look at some of his accomplishments educationally.

Is it not possible to have decent academics AND recruit players at the same time for athletics?

    Not them, the posters, lol.

When they play your schools you hate them and want to shut them down, but then suddenly we want their players and think they did a good job. Im just trying to understand which is it. Lol

Yes, he did, he started 2 years at Westminster Academy and was very successful there. He then finished his career at LCA. My assumption was that he wanted to play at a higher level of football. He is from Carencro, so both make sense as WCA is in Opelousas area and obviously LCA is on the Northside of Lafayette.
