I have sympathy for Texas but none for Notre Dame

Notre Dame has a long history of opting out when things are not in their favor.

In 43 they refused to play Louisiana when they knew they would lose.

AND they've opted out from bowl play before there was a profitable playoff.

I have none i am in the realm of if you cant win your conference, then how can you claim to be national champions, i know thats not realistic, but kinda how i look at it.

Historically? Sure.

In this century? In college its all about making money, and UL being in the playoff instead of ND or Texas is a huge net negative in the profit margin

If it is about making money then why are so many colleges losing money
