Does any of our Former or current NFL Players contribute to UL Financially?
If not why? If not have we asked them?
These guys have or currently are making millions.
Don't know unless you ask directly.
I know Delhomme probably does, but not sure how much.
We definitely need a law school and/or a med school in todays times to keep our alumni's money here. I am not sure if people understand how much having a law school or med school helps a university. Alot of our under graduates end up going to LSU Law/med school or Tulane Law/med school and then contribute to those schools and forget about their undergraduate degree school. I think that is one of the roots where we are missing.
I dont feel like med school alum are die hard sports fans, and if a diff undergrad seems they would still root for undergrad if they were fans
I beg to differ. They are but they like luxury and will pay for luxury because they can.
Have you ever attended a TSAB game in a suite? I went with a buddy in 2009 when UL Played TSAB and sat in the suites as my buddy was a lawyer in a law firm that had a suite. Everyone up there I talked to was either a doctor or a lawyer in those suites. Yes I wore by Cajun gear up there.
We don't have a med school or law school, but we have great programs producing young high earners (nursing, engineering, technology).
Here's the problem...most of them don't reside in Acadiana. They reside in Houston, Austin, DFW, NOLA, and Atlanta.
Why don't we engage those folks and encourage them to commit an annual $500 donation. They may only attend one or two games per year, but they share the same enthusiasm.
Set a goal of 2,000 commitments and there's your $1M/year.
Reserve a few club level seats and exclusive experiences for different alumni chapters/contributors and they will commit more.
Most times when sitting in club level seating at professional and college games, they aren't paying for the game, they are paying for the social experience and network.
Our administration has to see past Acadiana and Johnston St.
Our coaches and teams need each of us to contribute during these new changes.
