Thread: Portal Tracker (Outbound)

While the NCAA can no longer encroach upon an athlete's ability to transfer to any other school, seems like there could be a tie in to academic credit hours accumulated to permit player eligibility. Minimum 24 credit hours freshman year, 48 hours by end of sophomore year and so forth. Not a high standard but at least put some credibility in the process. Transferring from one college to another typically results in loss of credit hours, too. Maybe a rule similar to this is already in place but wonder if enforced. Maybe slows down this transfer portal free for all for what defines the difference between a college athlete and a pro athlete.

IMO, the NCAA is letting ridiculous things happen to force Congress' hand.

What makes you so sure of that? I've lost interest since NIL and portal, and I know I'm not alone.

I am hanging on by a thread. What is interesting is that I am becoming more of a fan of the Olympic sports (Tennis, Gold, Volleyball, Soccer, ETC) because even though they do have some movement in the portal, much less of the NIL situation with those sports at our level. Football and Basketball have ruined themselves and baseball and softball are not far from it.

For decades before NIL that seems to have been Martin Hall's stance.

There are new buildings, but no drive to cultivate a new following or cater to existing fans.

'They will remain college fans no matter what we do or do not do.'

Now fans, are getting from both ends of the spectrum.

Athletes can earn all they want, but when a president decides to use tariffs to raise money for regular Americans, the Supreme Court will strike that down?

    The left: we love hamilton
Also the left: we hate tariffs
    Hamilton: we need tariffs
Federalist no.12: in America, far the greatest part of the national revenue is derived from taxes of the indirect kind, from imposts, and from excises. Duties on imported articles form a large branch of this latter description.

In America, it is evident that we must a long time depend for the means of revenue chiefly on such duties

Our T&F programs get poached every year.
