Shelton was our best WR by far. Sure he needs to work on his drops but they were much reduced after coming back from injury. He was the only WR I noticed that would create separation.

I agree though screw chasing P4 transfers. I want to see them target established dominant FCS and even D2 players

My understanding was that Sampson had a broken finger coming out of the fall and that hampered his catching at first as it was real uncomfortable.

It was pretty clear that Perry and Bill were going and like Mullet said, who can blame them? Without a decent OL and a passing game that can open it up for them, they would likely just get beat up all year anyway.

I'm telling you, this is going to be the most important recruiting and portal season of this program's history. The last of Napier's talent has left and we'll see what type of program Des can maintain much less build now that he's doing it all on his own but I have my reservations.

By default he should be in the mix. LOL. I've heard we could lose Blanco as well. That would be our top 3 guys. The entire rotation will be in play next year.

I’m at the don’t care stage. We’re losing two pretty good running backs who aren’t E Bailey quality and transferring only to get more money. I’m being asked to pay for students who want more money but will leave for the next highest bidder who comes along. I can give more to academics and keep kids who want a degree, stay here to get it, and become important parts of our nations economy. Please explain why I should continue wasting $$ on athletics.

Hard to argue with your logic. The current landscape of college sports is incredibly skewed to the “haves”. The rest of us so far removed from being able to compete on a level playing field that it simply feels like flushing money down the toilet.

There’s no way these guys are being offered huge money by P4 programs. If we can’t even hang on to guys like that, just as soon have football play 3 money games a year and divert that extra funding to baseball to try to recruit and retain good players and coaches in that sport.
