Thread: Free Throw bias (39-13) dooms Louisiana

  1. UL Basketball Free Throw bias (39-13) dooms Louisiana

The frustration is starting to boil over for the UL Ragin’ Cajuns.

Hoping to avoid a 10-game losing streak in Wednesday’s Sun Belt Conference opener at Southern Miss, the Cajuns were in position for a big road victory only to fall 62-54 to the Golden Eagles at Reed Green Coliseum.

Damn...we already starting to blame this season on "free throw bias"?

We created that FT bias over the past 10 games. It's not a one game thing.

Last night was a bit of an outlier. Especially the second half. On the play where Q got tossed Lavergne gets fouled going to the basket, no call. On the other end of the court it got called all second half. The refs let usm play physical all game while only letting the Cajuns play physical in the first half. It was complete and utter incompetence.

How about he focus on fixing his freaking offense. Sick and tired of hearing how Keller is out. The frustration is boiling over and he is about to lose his team. It's embarrassing the product we put on the court every night. We would start to get calls if we consistently attacked the rim. We don't do that. And then to lose it in the 1 game you are actually close in all damn year. That hurt the team more than anything.

I’m not disagreeing. The offense is putrid. Multiple things can be true at the same time. We play horrible basketball. The officials were incompetent and inconsistent last night.

This team is less physical than last year’s team. That’s one problem.

And they are collectively slow. This is a major contributor to the foul discrepancies. If you’re the last one to the spot/point, you’ll more often than not get called for a foul.

It’s hard to drive to the rim when the defender is bigger, stronger and faster.

The ejection last night was the backbreaker. That’s on Q, nobody else.
