One way to deal with financial obstacles as a mid-major football program is to schedule money games, and the UL Ragin’ Cajuns have done just that with a road trip to face the USC Trojans next season.

All throughout my Independant push I was proposing games like this.
There was nothing to prevent Louisiana from having the best schedule in the country.
The fact that it is "historic" is disheartening. Water under the bridge disheartening.
At least they are on the right track but $1.3 is a very low number for a one-n-done.
Negotiating is not something this administration has much practice with.
Perhaps they will get better with practice, to the point where they don't view it as hard work.
University of southern california....sounds regional, lol
USC has No softball team, cant make big time that way
This is one way to generate money through scheduling P-4 "Money Games"! Much needed for the Cajuns!
I would schedule 4 games with USC.
2 Money Games (way more than $1.3 each)
2 Home-n-Home (no money exchanged)
Well, just remember the slippery slope multiple money games are.
For example, ULM played 3 this year. Which meant, more often than not, the balance of the schedule has to finish 6-3 to sniff a bowl game.
Did it help their budget? Yes.
Was it noticeable? No.
Does apathy show up with a 1-4 start? More often than not, yes.
Foote didn't include our win at Long Beach State in 1975...my first road trip! Harold Porter caught a bomb from Roy Henry for the win!
Floor should be (2) P4 games per year. Non-conference should be local FCS, local G6, 2 P4.
If we can't have a winning record (6-4) with our non-P4 schedule, we don't deserve to go Bowling anyway.
