Thread: Tim Leger Rumor

    Default Tim Leger Rumor

I have been hearing from a few sources that Leger will not be back next year and Des has been instructed to hire a new OC.

I first heard it last week from a friend who is very close to a current skill guy on offense and his family. But didn’t want to say anything with just one source.

Then over last weekend I heard it from a guy who recently finished up his career at an offensive skill position and still has several close sources in the building as assistants and GAs. He said that is what he’s been told from the inside.

Now I’m hearing from a couple of random friends who say they heard the same from some pretty good reliable sources.

    Anyone else hear this?

I have not heard this, but if this means we are bringing in an OC/Play Caller I would not be opposed.

I would be ok with less news about assistants. Thats part of the beginning of the p4 slope that grew out of control in their efforts for separation. By them being able to increase salaries for assistants than higher than some g5 head coaches, in essence they are hogging the talent to avoid competing against it. It all started with news and rumors and hyping everything up so espn can have round the clock news on weekdays rather than showing more g5 teams at least on replay

If this is true, it would be a GOLDEN opportunity to change course and respond to the new NIL/Portal world by utilizing an offense that does not rely on the Dual threat QB that EVERY P4 school will take from us.

Find someone from the Mike Leach or Paul Johnson coaching trees. Either go Air Raid or Option.

Thank you to Tim Leger and his family for what they did for this university. Maybe it is time for us to cut ties and both move on.
Hopefully Des allows his new OC to actually call the plays.
Maybe Tim is going to Southern Miss as their HC or OC to be where his son is(his son is pitching coach at USM)?

I would promote Munoz to Offensive Coordinator.

    Leger is the WR Coach.

He has had tremendous success with receivers at Louisiana.

I think he is a tremendous positive attitude to our Program and sideline.

The WRs dropping every f'n ball in the 2025 season was a fluke.

He is a great recruiter for Louisiana and straight up reps our brand great and genuine intensity.

Let's not get all pumped up that we will search for a new OC. We don't have one, we have CMD calling plays - that's what OC does. Leger is the WR coach, that is why he and the receiver corps are constantly evaluating misses, opportunities, adjustments, at every moment when not on the field.

The WR drops ball. Play is not executed. Cajuns don't win.

When you target your 4 or 5 star WR from the portal, 12 times in your season opener vs. Rice and he catches 4, hell what you do next? Stop throwing to the 4 or 5 star WR from the Portal? Then all you would hear is "Why aren't we throwing the ball to 6!!!!"

    Don't drop ball. Cajun Win.

Couldn't agree more. Develop an identity similar to the Des & Fenroy offense.

Go ask his receivers how much of a good coach he is.
