Transfer Portal Changes that should be Changed.....What say you?

I for one of many, hate the transfer portal. Paying of the players, also a loser in my book. With the transfer portal, IMO there should be a one and done rule! We are teaching youth, nothing about commitment, in fact we are teaching them the opposite. Barr none, college sports could regain that IDENTITY of "This is Our Players", develop them, make a team that the FAN base will go out to watch at, "THE SWAMP"! So a player has one chance to transfer, for $Money$, or coach, family, home, whatever. What say you? Have amazing Holidays ahead, and Bowl Game, right!

Could a school individually figure out a way to do it internally on a small scale, yes...see navy and army

While I don't think I agree with you, that could simply be fixed by having the stipulation that whenever a head coach leaves a school, all players have the same opportunity (but it needs to be within a certain time frame so the new coach can know who he haves).

Should reinstitute the sit a year rule. Exception can be made if the head coach who recruited you leaves. Other than that, if you want to transfer, you sit.

The athlete has to think twice, as well as the Get Gordon booster, since he’ll likely have to pay the kid even for that year he’s not playing.

This has to be the way, otherwise I'm not sure there's any reason for the average booster to support college sports

We know, we know, that is your opinion. You’ve stated it 17,000 times here trying to be the “law expert”.

You may be right on this, or you may be wrong. In my experience, when folks I’ve started negotiating with on a deal have said “Work with my lawyer”, it’s been 50/50 at best that it works out better for them. Too many times, lawyers are arrogant and don’t want to admit that a situation is outside of their real expertise, and their client in those cases actually loses out.
