Thread: University Executive Budget Cuts

  1. Default University Executive Budget Cuts

I heard yesterday all Vice Presidents with the exception of Dr. Jamie Hebert and Brian Maggard were let go. Can anyone confirm this? Will costs associated with a potential bowl invite be under serious consideration? Hopefully this will not be a problem.

Development took a big hit at director level. A good bit of talent went out the door over the last month. We’ll see how this works out.
Our CFO is still not sold on UL being R1. I’m not sure he knows what R1 means and how it has impacted us. I think he wants us to be like UNO. Maybe under LSU??

If our CFO doesn't want us to stay committed to being an R1 university, and Gallot is banging the vertical integration drum, prepare for us to finally be told to know our place.

I read the latest failed audit and major part of failing audit had to do with research money. I couldve read it wrong though.

Ok, how is R1 going to benefit the lives of Lafayette and our UL Students?

Generally it is accepted that the R1 designation boosts regional economic growth.

Evidently some industries like developing partnerships with R1 research institutions and end up making large investments
