Lunch did not have good practices in August. Note he missed most of spring due to injury from 24. August is a lot of 7 on 7 and QB’s are not hit in practice often. He did well in scrimmages which is more game like and coaches did notice that. Now, once he became a starter his passing accuracy and decision making improved significantly. A former coach confirmed this to me. Lunch does have a deal with Lunchables and that may be enough to keep him here. Brent Gordon is the player I think is most likely to get significant offers from other schools. He was a starter as a pure freshman at one of toughest positions on field. That will attract attention.

Pure speculation at this point and nothing less but I'd say Gordon is gone. Great cover CB and that is coveted and he will likely get offers from bigger programs. I suspect Jensen could too. Whether Lunch stays here or not is not of big concern to me because I think we'll lose our top 2-3 RB's regardless although I've heard Lunch has received a significant offer that will be hard to pass up. Regardless, we will have a lot of questions entering next season

Whatever player we have enter the portal, if we are doing our due diligence, we should have a list of names of guys from FCS schools that can ball and from P4 schools that aren't getting playing time to pick from if we need to replace a starter.

That is how this is supposed to work.

We are not in a vacuum here. What we can't do is fall on the ground and throw a tantrum like a toddler. Everybody needs to man up.

For instance, SFA had 2 Junior OL make the 2025 ALL SLC 1st team.

If we had a glaring hole in the OL, that's the kind of guy you go after.

Lamar had a Sophomore OL make the 2nd team all SLC. If you were looking for more than a year of production, this is the kind of guy you want.
