Very true, and if you ever want to beat a top-20 program you need to play a top-20 program 3 or 4 times a year.

How about try one year without any non conf games, see if we can go 8 and 0 or 7-1 and see what happens, roll the dice

7-6 with a 5 game win streak going into next year is much better than Des' first two 6-7 seasons. In fact it will be his first bowl win if we get this W.
In fact it could be argued it is better than the terrible way we got our asses handed to us in the SBC championship and the Bowl game last year even though we did win 10 games last year.
