I would not be shocked if this is the most active in the portal we have seen CMD.

I am stating the obvious but players enter the transfer portal for two reasons:

1) playing time
2) NIL/Compensation

(And they are not mutually exclusive)

We have challenges with #2.

If someone thinks they dont have enough NIL, then give them less playing time and show them how much their salary per hour actually increased

remember we did sign one last year in Coleman Carter who was the Natchez Gazzette player of the year in Mississippi.

We should do better with in state recruiting.

IMO #25 - #75 ranked players in Louisiana is probably what most SBC conference teams have a legit shot at recruiting.

Top 25 ranked players are going to LSU or other P4 schools. NIL, stadium atmosphere, conference prestige/competition are all in play at that point.

If we were in the AAC, I could see us having a shot at #15 - #50 ranked players in Louisiana.

CMD is closing a good SBC class.

That could be true about looking in the portal for a QB, but don't forget Daniel Beal-RFR and Coleman Carter-FR are currently on the roster. I was told by someone who actually knows, Carter may have the best arm talent on the team. He's a dual threat with speed too!

If DB stays on the team, he will get better, I have no doubt. Just look at all of the rookie QB's in the NFL that were given up on too soon, only to come back playing at a high level. It's the same in college. Some kids need more time to adjust.

Will we have both Lunch and WH on the team next season? That's a big question! Probably only they know for sure at this time.
