I dont think i ever had a job where i didnt wear 2 hats...
If i could do it for 100k or less, seems someone making 750k+ should be able to do it.
Although i suppose, what is the guy in the position that is supposed to wear the other hat, actually doing?
I agree he shouldnt do both, but at the same time i have questions....
A. Wouldnt the majority of those duties be during the week.
B. What is the other guy doing while des is doing their job
C. I was in the military, lol, yep no opposing forces....
D. Name one company that an "opponent" is not trying to take away some of their business.
The reality is no other school in Louisiana is ever going to call us “Louisiana.” Why? Because doing so legitimizes us as the flagship identity of the state, and that’s something our rivals will never willingly concede. Tech, ULM, LSU none of them benefit from acknowledging us that way, so they’ll keep using “ULL” or whatever else they can to diminish the brand.
That’s why we can’t waste energy worrying about what other schools or their fans say. The only thing that matters is what we project. If we go all in on “Louisiana” on our signage, our uniforms, our marketing, our traditions then over time recruits, media, and casual fans will follow suit. Consistency builds legitimacy. The more we reinforce “Louisiana,” the less room there is for confusion or debate.
In short, we don’t need permission from anyone else to own the name. We just need to commit to it fully and unapologetically. The outside noise will always be there, but if we stay consistent, “Louisiana” becomes undeniable.
Academically, we are the only R1 school in the ULS. But, we don't have a Med school, a Law school, a Dental School or a Vet school. LSU has all of these and has been deemed the Flagship of the State of Louisiana. This is also why LSU has so much professional financial support while UL has mostly small donors. Our only hope is that the ULS, which is larger than the LSU System, demands its own Flagship and LSU remains only the Flagship of the LSU System. Is Southern University considered the Flagship of its System? It at least has its own Law school.
