Thread: Texas v Texas A&M

    Default Texas v Texas A&M

Look at UT's stadium, students, and university commercials. Did you see UT's commercial? Awesome. No ballerina with a dream that says absolutely nothing about UL or entices students to enroll. Think we can learn anything from this? Doubtful. We do things our way and look at the results. We've played on the road against some of the top programs in the country and have learned nothing. We'll get 15,000 with hardly any student attendance and think we are OK. Need to learn from the successful programs and implement. Need a restart on everything in the athletic dept. because what we are doing ain't working.

Think they need a new R-1 banner in the dome. Present one starting to fade.

Do you realize what little effort it takes to promote the significant things that matter? Do you realize how little effort it would take to actually put out a good product visually for the public to see. Do you realize the return of investment this University could see if it put any effort into improving the standing of its Athletics? There’s more, but you should get the picture.

Miss State's enrollment is only about 4,000 more than UL's at 23,500. Size of the school is helpful with more students and more alums, but it's what the school does with its students, alumni and fan base that matter more. Of corse, conference affiliation greatly matters. Unfortunately, UL is content to be in the SBC. We will never have an 50,000 seat stadium and fill it. But, we do have a 35,000 seat stadium that we can't even half fill. We should minimally match an E. Carolina, App State or even JMU in attendance and student support. We need to be at the top of G6 schools and we are in the middle to lower half. And basketball is even worse. It is so frustrating to see what could be and what should have been developed all these years, especially after watching the environment in the Texas game. Just want to see a similar environment, but with a smaller crowd. Is that ever going to happen at UL under current leadership or will it be status quo year after year? I fear at my age I may never see it. What a tragedy that would be.

We can’t afford a mascot or championship signage in the football stadium. That ballerina will have osteoporosis by the time they prioritize a new commercial.
