Unless some other entity is out there actively promoting Louisiana negatives, a proactive PR team can earn the slot.
One thing we're missing.....a PR department.

The requirement for athletics to participate in the university wide belt tightening may be impacting this situation. The entire athletic marketing group was disbanded. Even with that, many if not most of the academic folks do not think athletics has done enough cost cutting.

Ahh good point... i wasnt thinking of the immediacy of some of the situations. But you certainly could at the various reenlistments milestones. So for the most part the post is correct.... Granted on occassion the military was doing a decent job of trying to present some counter offers, i.e. reenlistment bonuses.

Has athletics ever used the full 3% allotment allowed by state law?

If we havent, we should calculate what that equals times all the years, plus interest.

Why doesn't the athletic department utilize senior classes in marketing, agronomy, horticulture, etc. (we need much better facility maintenance and ground maintenance at the athletic complex)? Have the right people in charge and build the support staff with seniors who are about to graduate and enter the work force. What better job training for them and cost effective use by athletics?

Ole Miss in the process of eliminating MSU from bowl consideration. 38-19 in the 4th.
