Turning down a bowl (any bowl) is the worst disservice an athletic department can do for a school that invested so much advertising dollar to get noticed.

There is no other value athletics brings to a school.

Speaking of meaningless, I’m sure “casual fans” were shocked FCS #1 NDSU was beaten at home in the playoffs this past weekend. That’s what giving up where UL and their brethren are today will result in.

They really are. Nobody other than the gamblers pay any attention to them at all. The only games everyone else is interested in at this point are the playoff bowl games.
