we had a half of a game in the middle of good moments tonight
What is concerning going forward is every team left on the schedule is at or above .500 except ULM (x2), Georgia State, Norfolk State and the next opponent, winless Jackson State.
Know it’s early, but it is what it is. UL will be mired at or near the bottom of the NET and Ken Pom rankings. Didn’t think things would fall off the table.
Home cooking?
We just foul everyone...
We hired a coach who created a "great defense" at a semi-namebrand team and forgot to tell all the refs that, even though they've never heard of us, they should give us the same slack that Houston gets
After spotting UCD 15, UL only lost by 6 the rest of the way.
Let's call it for what it is. We play hard on D but we play foolishly. Too many hands and bumps when we don't have to. It's not a home cooking thing. It's a consistency thing. We are constantly outshot at the FT line because we just don't play that smart defensively. Namely, Jeremiah Evans. Too many uncalled for senseless fouls.
Time for a total win poll for hoops this year? Gotta think Marlin is not mad about how awful we look so far this year. Only positive I can think of is things can only go up from here.
are we the victim of home cooking officials - or - do we just play defense too hard and foul too much
one way are the other the consistent occurrence is an outrageous deviation in number of fouls called on Louisiana as opposed to the number called on its opponents
