Force them to consider Louisiana's record with Lunch under center.

Unless some other entity is out there actively promoting Louisiana negatives, a proactive PR team can earn the slot.
There are 3 things that matter to bowls:

    1) Ticket sales
    2) Sexy matchup
    3) Brand

They do not care about anything else. All the PR skills in the world do not change this.

While I personally could not care less about bowls, especially since the transfer portal has further lessened its relevance, it does not change the fact that brand creation should be a major UL focus.

There is nothing sexy about a MAC matchup.

CBS has UL vs. Southern Miss in Boca Raton.

    Some things never change.

If the internet was a thing, JD would have gotten absolutely roasted with the number of picks he threw.

USM really wants New Orleans Bowl, they don't travel that well and New Orleans or Mobile would be their choices and would give them their best shot at having fans in the stands. I know that my daughter and son in law, (both USM grads) and him having worked with the athletic department all the way through school (first at the USM paper, then being over athletic media and having a sports podcast and then during grad school working with the athletic department directly while he got his MBA and masters in sports management) and heaing it from other usm fans, one most don't think the team is good enough to travel for this year and most are wondering if their coach can recruit in an area where he has to but heads with so many MS, LA and AL schools including 4 SEC teams in their recruiting footprint that they just won't follow the team to far out of town. Good example is that USM had about 20 fans at the UL game

Our best possible bowl matchups are as follows:

    1) Playoffs
    2) vs. P4 school anywhere
    3) vs. ranked G6 school anywhere
    4) New Orleans
    5) Orlando
    6) Houston

    Everything else is MEH

We need to win on Saturday to even reach the “MEH” level. But I will go if NO/Houston/Mobile/Shreveport. We will probably get a 6-6 opponent.
