Crash Leaves Florida Man in Critical Condition

St. Mary Parish- Today, Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a single vehicle crash that left one man in critical condition.
According to investigating troopers, on April 18, 2010, at 7:35 a.m., a 2006 Ford pickup, driven by forty-four-year-old Long Vo of Lafayette, was traveling south on LA 83 near Glenco. Vo failed to negotiate a curve and crossed the centerline. Vo overcorrected, ran off the right side of the road and overturned in a sugarcane field.
Vo and a passenger in the vehicle, forty-four-year-old Cam Duong of Holiday, FL, were injured as a result of the crash. Vo sustained moderate injuries, while Duong was critically injured in the crash. Both men were transported to local area hospitals.
Vo was suspected to be impaired at the time of the crash and has been charged with 5th offense DWI, Careless Operation, and First Degree Negligent Injuring. Toxicology samples were taken from Vo and were submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
Louisiana State Police reminds all drivers that impairment from alcohol or drugs is impairment. Drive impaired and get arrested.
